Stowell Learning Center is a diagnostic and educational learning center with locations in Chino and Irvine, California. Our unique tutoring approach has made us a leader the industry for over 25 years.
When reading or school is not going well, parents look to tutoring as a solution. But tutoring often doesn't work. Most learning challenges including auditory processing, dyslexia, ADD or ADHD can be permanently corrected.
At Stowell Learning Center, we do MORE than tutor. We help children and adults SOLVE their learning challenges.

About Stowell Learning Center

The Stowell Learning Center was established in 1984 as a diagnostic, tutorial center for students with learning disabilities. In the past 20 years we have helped hundreds of students with a variety of learning challenges become successful learners.

Our goal for each student, regardless of age, is that he/she becomes as comfortable and independent a learner as possible. In order to do this, we work closely with parents, communicate with schools, and are continually seeking to find and implement the most effective and efficient strategies and programs. We work one-to-one with students in a positive, caring environment to provide instruction that is targeted to their specific needs and learning style.

In addition to providing diagnostic evaluations and cognitive / educational therapy for students, the Stowell Learning Center is a training facility for therapists across the U.S. and Canada in several highly successful, "cutting-edge" programs. These include:

  • PACE (Processing and Cognitive Enhancement)
  • Master the Code
  • Samonas Sound Therapy
  • Learning Ears®
  • Discover Math
  • Edu-Therapeutics™

Education Director / Consultant, Jill Stowell, holds California teaching credentials in elementary education and learning handicaps, an MS degree in Education (emphasis learning handicaps), a California Resource Specialist Certificate, and Dyslexia Remediation Specialist Certification. She taught seven years in public school in both regular and special education programs prior to opening the Learning Center.

The Learning Center typically employs 12-14 full and part-time clinical staff. All clinicians in the Learning Center have been extensively trained in the methods we use.
